When Standard Clearspan Isn't Enough

The Teton is a 60×120 post-frame building with 26-foot eave height and a vaulted interior — 7,200 square feet of clearspan space under scissor trusses that open the ceiling to its full peak. No interior columns. No compromise. The main structure spans 60 feet clear with Western-manufactured scissor trusses at 2-foot centers and a 5/12 roof pitch. The scissor design creates a cathedral ceiling inside — the bottom chord follows a 1.75/12 slope from eave to peak, giving you dramatically more usable overhead volume than a standard flat-ceiling truss. At 26-foot eave height, this building handles anything from full-court basketball to commercial fleet storage to indoor arenas. Two 16×14 overhead doors provide access for large equipment, vehicles, or event staging. Four insulated walk doors in black (one with a 9-lite window kit) handle foot traffic. Eight 48×48 vinyl windows and one 36×24 fixed window bring natural light deep into the building. Roof skylights add even more daylight from above. A 10×64 covered porch runs along one side, and 4-foot awnings with 12/12 pitch mono trusses shelter the entry doors. The building wraps in three-tone 26-gauge Classic steel: Burnished Slate on the walls, Black Crinkle on the roof and all trim, and Arctic White on the porch soffit and awning undersides. Columns are 5-ply 2×8 laminated posts — the heaviest column in Western's lineup — with uplift plates and composite footing pads engineered for serious wind and snow loads. ProLinx housewrap, Rhino Roof underlayment, ice and water shield, and 139 Simpson hurricane ties round out a package that's engineered to stand for generations. The Teton is named after the mountain range that defines the Wyoming skyline — and like its namesake, this building is impossible to miss.

Foundation & Site Prep

The Teton uses post-in-ground construction with uplift plates and 16" composite footing pads on all columns. Your engineering package includes a complete foundation plan with exact column placement. A building this size typically requires a substantial slab — work closely with your concrete contractor and local building department on slab thickness, reinforcement, and frost depth requirements for your site.

Permits & Engineering

A 7,200-square-foot building with 26-foot eave height will require permits in every jurisdiction. Your Western engineering package includes stamped plans designed to satisfy code requirements. We recommend engaging your local building department early in the process — our engineering team can answer their questions, provide additional documentation, and work through any revisions.

The Build Process

The Teton ships across multiple deliveries on Western trucks — columns and lumber first, then trusses, then steel. Oversize permits and pilot car logistics are handled by Western. Columns go in first. Scissor trusses at 60-foot span and 2-foot centers require crane setting — plan for crane rental as part of your build timeline. An experienced crew typically frames and closes in a building this size in 3–4 weeks depending on crew size and weather. Interior finish is a separate scope entirely and depends on the end use.

How Much Does a 60x120 Pole Barn Cost?

A 60×120 premium post-frame building package at this specification level represents a significant investment — typically in the $100,000–$175,000+ range depending on final door selections, options, and site-specific engineering. This is a materials package price and does not include concrete, labor, crane, insulation, or interior finish. The Teton ships as a complete, ready-to-build package with everything your crew needs from the ground up — including oversize delivery logistics.
