What is post-frame construction?
Post-frame (pole barn) construction is a building method that uses large, widely-spaced posts or columns as the primary structural framework. Unlike conventional stud framing, post-frame buildings transfer loads directly through the columns to the foundation, allowing for clear-span interiors with no load-bearing walls. It's the most cost-effective method for agricultural buildings, shops, garages, horse arenas, barndominiums, and commercial storage.
What states do you deliver to?
We deliver to 11 western states: Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, and Nevada. All deliveries are made on our trucks with our drivers. No freight brokers or third-party carriers.
How do I get a quote?
Submit your project details through our quote form, or call us at (307) 322-2888. Tell us what you're building, the dimensions, your location, and any specific requirements. We'll engineer a complete material package and send you a detailed quote.
What's the difference between Pro and Core?
Western Pro is our contractor partnership program: four tiers (P1 through P4) based on annual build volume, with volume-based rates, priority support, and co-branding opportunities. SmartBuild is available at all tiers, free at P3 and above. Western Core is for one-time buyers and repeat customers who need the same quality materials without a contractor membership. Both programs get the same manufacturer-direct materials and engineering.
How long does production take?
Typical production time is 4-6 weeks from order confirmation, depending on the complexity of your project, current production volume, and material availability. Simple packages may be faster; large or complex builds may take longer. Your salesperson will give you a specific timeline when you order.
Do you deliver to the jobsite?
Yes. Every delivery is made directly to your jobsite on Western trucks with Western drivers. We bring your complete package to the site and place it where your crew needs it.
Can I get custom sizes?
Absolutely. Everything we build is custom-manufactured to your specifications. Columns, trusses, panels, and trim are all produced to your exact dimensions. We don't sell pre-fab catalog sizes. Your building is engineered to your plans.
Do you offer financing?
We don't offer direct financing, but many of our contractors work with lenders who specialize in construction financing. If you need help finding financing options, contact our team and we can point you in the right direction.
What colors are available?
We stock 45+ steel panel colors in gloss, matte, crinkle, and printed finishes with premium paint systems backed by a 40-year paint warranty. Browse our full color chart to see every option.
Do you build the structures or just supply materials?
We are a materials manufacturer and supplier. We don't build structures. However, our contractor network includes experienced post-frame builders across all 11 states we serve. We can connect you with a qualified contractor in your area.
What's included in a building package?
A complete Western building package includes engineered trusses, laminated columns, steel roofing and siding, all trim and flashing, pre-sorted fastener kits, and stamped engineering drawings. Doors, windows, insulation, and premium finishes are available as add-ons.
How do I become a Western Pro contractor?
Apply through our contractor network application. We'll review your business, discuss volume expectations, and place you in the right Pro tier. Requirements include operating as a registered business entity, maintaining volume thresholds, and paying on time.
Do you supply premium finishes?
Yes. We offer Versetta Stone (mortarless stone veneer), Diamond Kote (pre-finished engineered wood siding), and Gerkin Windows. These premium finishes turn post-frame buildings into residential and commercial-quality structures.
Where are you located?
Our manufacturing facility is at 16 North Rd, Wheatland, WY 82201. We're centrally located in southeast Wyoming, about an hour north of Cheyenne. All manufacturing (trusses, steel, columns) happens right here.
