When a Big Shop Isn't Big Enough

The Riverton is a 60×64 shop with a 16-foot lean-to — 3,840 square feet of enclosed clearspan workspace plus covered outdoor space along one side. At 16-foot eave height, this building swallows full-size equipment, lifts, and tall storage without breaking a sweat. The main structure spans 60 feet clear with no interior columns in your way. Trusses are 4/12 pitch on 4-foot centers — Western-manufactured and engineered for the load. The 16-foot mono lean-to runs along one side at a 2/12 pitch, giving you a covered work area, material staging zone, or additional equipment bay with its own overhead door access. Two walk doors — one with an insulated 9-lite window kit — give you daylight and foot traffic flow. Six 36×36 Gerkin slider windows bring natural light into the workspace. The building wraps in two-tone 26-gauge Classic steel: Ash Gray Textured on the upper walls, Charcoal Textured wainscot at the base, and Charcoal on the roof and all trim. The wainscot isn't just cosmetic — it hides the wear and tear where equipment and materials make contact with the walls. Columns are post-in-ground with uplift plates and composite footing pads — engineered for Wyoming wind loads. Housewrap goes on the walls for weather protection. The Riverton is named after the central Wyoming town that sits where the Wind River and the Little Wind meet — a crossroads built for work, and a building built the same way.

Foundation & Site Prep

The Riverton uses post-in-ground construction with uplift plates and 16" composite footing pads. Your engineering package includes a foundation plan with exact column placement. Most builds use a 4" concrete slab poured after columns are set — your concrete contractor works from the column layout we provide.

Permits & Engineering

A building this size will require a permit in virtually every jurisdiction. Your Western engineering package includes stamped plans. We recommend connecting with your local building department early — our engineering team can answer their questions and provide any additional documentation they need.

The Build Process

The Riverton ships as a complete materials package on Western trucks. Columns go in first, then trusses, then steel. An experienced post-frame crew typically frames and closes in a 60×64 building in 10–14 working days depending on crew size and weather. The lean-to goes up as part of the main framing sequence. Interior finish timeline depends on your scope.

How Much Does a 60x64 Pole Barn Cost?

A 60×64 post-frame building package from Western typically falls in the $50,000–$75,000 range depending on door selections, upgrades, and options. This is a materials package price — it does not include concrete, labor, overhead doors (if customer-supplied), insulation, or interior finish. The Riverton ships as a complete, ready-to-build package with everything your crew needs from the ground up.
